What is a zine?

Zines were originally handmade booklets/DIY magazines made by those who did not have access to high quality publishing

These were alternatives for music artists, influencers, illustrations, arts...everything outside of the mainstream publishing.

Start by creating a mind-map to visualise your ideas create links between various aspects of your work

Research 5 different photographers or Photography styles that relate to your chosen word and respond to these.

This will help you display your zine and give you ideas.

Some Extra thinking points

What is your zine for? What are you trying to show?

How is it going to be laid out? Which page will come first? Which page will come last?

How are your images going to relate to the chosen word?

What colour scheme will you stick to?

Have you looked at other examples? Is your idea unique or too similar to others?

What will be on your title page? How will this grab the viewers attention?

How can you link your work to external sources?

It doesn't matter if it's not in the same order exactly!
